WE DON'T NEED NO EDUCATION.

No New Posts FOYER.

The fundamental and usually first thing built in a school, the entrance hall is a key feature of any school. Woodsen Academy is no different. Before, after (and sometimes during) school, students gather at the entrance to gossip, smoke and generally waste time. It's the place to be before school if you want the lowdown on what's been happening over the weekend. Some students like to skip class by coming here; but that's not usually the best decision, as teachers usually catch them at it. The teachers have learned that. After school the entrance is a 'pick-up-point', especially if it's raining. Don't get caught in the crowd!

No New Posts CLASSROOMS.

It's what school was invented for; to teach young minds about the facts of life, about things that they will surely need when they grow older and depart WA for the big, bad world. Most students, however, find class the most boring part of WA and decide that they should catch up on sleep that they sacrificed for last night's party. Others like to use classes as a gossip catch-up, and it is not unusual to see notes flying around the class while the teacher's back is turned. Others, however, prefer not to attend class to all, preferring to stay in the beds or skip class somewhere around WA campus.

No New Posts MONTEATH LIBRARY.

A place that most geeks find sanctuary in amongst all the drama, it's the library. The library is named after the first headmaster of Woodsen, Harold Monteath. Pictures of him feature around the library. Of course, for coursework and assignment's it's vital for students to have a library, paticularly in a school that is known for getting above average marks, but that doesn't mean most students use it. As mentioned before, if you're looking for a geek or nerd to do your assignment for you last minute, then this is the first place you should call at. Watch out if the older librarian is on duty, however. She'll take a lot of pleasure in hanging you by your thumbs in the dungeons. Or, chuck you out of the library and ban you. Whatever you choose to believe.

No New Posts COURTYARD.

Situated slap-bang in the middle of WA's campus, if you looked at WA's campus from a 'bird's eye view' then you would see a sqare hole in the middle of the building. This is the courtyard, home to a few fountains, half a dozen stone benches and lots and lots of flowers. Students tend to choose this stop to relax at breaktimes, or during study periods. The courtyard has a air of relaxation about it; birds twittering, bees humming and the students always feel the need to whisper when they're taking a break there. Compared to the rest of the school, which is usually in some form of chaos, the courtyard seems tranquil.

No New Posts CAFETERIA.

Every day at twelve noon, WA's cafeteria turns from a quiet place of solitude to a rowdy, messy area where the students have lunch. WA's cafeteria is a caverous space, taking up most of the lower floor on it's own, with around fifty tables with six chairs at each table; perfect for little cliques to form and sit together, without anyone unwanted joining them. Of course, some of the bigger groups at TA prefer to join two or three tables together, but the kind and wonderful dinner ladies will sort all the tables and chairs out for tomorrow, for them to be all ruined the next day. A lot is on offer in the cafeteria, so you'll never get bored with the food available.

No New Posts SPORTS GROUNDS.

Out the back, near the forest, there is a large field that is used for sports practise. With a football pitch, baseball diamond, tennis courts and everything else you could ask for, Woodsen's sports program is one of the best in LA. A football match is held every second Friday with most of the school standing out in the bleachers yelling for the Woodsen Tigers.

No New Posts BATHROOM WALL.

The infamous "Bathroom Wall" is the place where gossip is spread. It is the central column of gossip, and if your 'activites' have been somewhat illicit, then by no means should you be surprized if you're name is scribbled in Sharpie on the wall for all of Woodsen to see. It has been rumored that even the teachers come here when no students are around to peek at what has been going on inside the school in which they teach ... but maybe the just hear it through the great vine. Whatever happens, if you appear here, you're certain to be instantly famous around campus. And not always for good reasons, either. Be warned; if you're on here too often, then you'll earn a bad reputation, and that's something no-one wants. Is it?

No New Posts BLUEWATER MALL.

Bluewater holds claim to the honorable title of one of the biggest malls in LA. Bluewater spands four floors, with each floor dedicated to a different area of shopping; first floor is all about the home, with furniture and gardenware alike; second floor is all about the clothes, with a wide range of designer stores for female, male and children; third floor is all food, with top food restaraunts such as McDonalds, Witherspoons, Mama Potter's and a lot more; and the fourth and final floor is dedicated to entertainment, with shops such as GAME and HMV, where you can buy consoles, televisions and other forms of entertainment. You may not be guarenteed to buy anything, but there is one thing that Bluewater can guarentee - you'll find what you need.

No New Posts LOS ANGELES BEACH.

Seeing as LA itself is situated on the west coast of US, it was essential for the small town to have a huge beach. With a mile of white sand a beautiful turquoise waters, it's a tourist attraction. There are also stalls set up along the beach, so girls can shop while tanning! Everyone hits the beach at the weekend, when there is no homework for Woodsen students to be slaving over. There's sure to be some kind of beach party every Saturday; if you haven't heard about it, just turn up and there will be something going on, for sure.

No New Posts PIER.

If you have a beach, then you've got to have a pier, don't you? And LA is no different, boasting both a beach and a pier. LA's pier goes way out into the sea, providing a perfect viewing point for those who tend to be 'at-one' with nature and sea. Others prefer to spend a romantic night at the pier with someone special, watching the stars and the boats bobbing about in the Pacific Ocean. Most groups gather on the pier at night to have a chat and a drink, and some tend to skinny-dip in the summer, but not in the winter as it can get biting cold. But no matter what time of year it is, it's perfect for stargazing, with the stars twinkling overhead like little diamonds.

No New Posts PURE HEALTH CLUB.

If there is one thing you'll bound to find in LA is fit and healthy kids, adults and seniors. Everyone eats healthily, watches what they eat and, of course, use the gym. The top place for exercise in Key West is Pure Health Club, situated on the beachfront giving you a sea view while you exercise. Motivation to get out there and in a bikini is enough to turn you away from the ice-cream parlour next door and straight through the pristine glass doors of Pure, where you are greeted by blonde-haired, white-teethed, fake-nailed, sugary-voiced receptionists who you just want to strangle for being so damn perfect. As always, enjoy your workout at Pure!

No New Posts CHEMISTRY.

CHEMISTRY, the hottest and hippest club in LA. Only the best of the best go, and ID is usually never required, since all the celebs that visit LA when they are in LA, and therefore Chemistry, are underage. The drinks and flowing and the beat is pumping 24/7; so get your butt in there if you want to look good! You might even spot a few celebs there, if you're there at happy hour. Chemistry is one of the few places left in LA that allows you to smoke freely, so don't be surprized if you come away stinking of nicotine, and most likely highly intoxicated. Don't let people take advantage of you in that state, though; espesically in a city like LA.

No New Posts ODEON COMPLEX.

When everyone you know is out, and it's raining, what do you do? Stay home and knit? Nah, come down to the arcade, which not only sports an arcade room filled with games from air hockey to sitmulation snowboarding, but also a cinema complex on site which has over twenty screens. That's one big cinema. Popcorn's also a steal, as well. Just as well, in fact, the way those attendants pile it on. You could live off one bucket of medium-sized popcorn for a week, or maybe even a month. The cinema also has all the latest releases, so you'll probably never see the same thing twice. Perfect for either group outings with friends, or a date.

No New Posts PAPERHOUSE HOTEL.

Originally known as the Glasshouse Hotel, the Paperhouse Hotel is one of the finest hotels in LA. The Paperhouse Hotel changed it's name as a lawsuit was made against it by another hotel in LA; but after the Paperhouse changed it's name, the other hotel closed down and the Paperhouse remained the Paperhouse, as it shall always be known in LA It boasts many function rooms - used by WA for events such as Prom, and dances etc, not to mention business meetings - and a bar downstairs in the hotel, and a restuarant. It also has a heated swimming pool, an unheated swimming pool, and a full spa on site with treatments. So, if you live in LA, you don't have to go far to have a exotic holiday!

No New Posts STARDUST DINER.

One of the lastest diners to hit LA's streets, Stardust Diner is the home of 'cheap and cheerful' food. Whenever you need it, whatever you fancy, you'll find it here. With only about five waiter/waitresses, you end up knowing them all within days of going to the diner; they're friendly, always happy (even when you're not) and seem to be eternally grateful even if you leave them only a dollar in tips. So, come along with your friends to Stardust if you're strapped for cash, and if you're lucky (and know the staff like most students do) then you'll get a free milkshake, on the house.

No New Posts LOS ANGELES HEIGHTS.

Los Angeles Heights is, by far, the most expensive and classy neighborhood in LA. If your dad is a CEO, or your mom's a millionaire glamour model then you're bound to live in one of these houses. Most of them have double garages and bulters with pools, but don't let that put you off the people that live in these grand mansions. Most of them are down-to-earth, lovely people.

No New Posts WESTSIDE VILLAGE.

The next rung down on the social and neightborhood ladder is Westside Village, which is obviously situated in the west of LA. These houses that are here are a little less posh than those in LA Heights, but still posh compared to some other homes in LA. Usually these homes have a garage (the odd few may have a double, but most are singles) with a large back yard, but sadly no pool.

No New Posts CHESTER ESTATE.

The Chester Estate is home to all your run-of-the-mill people. The people who's parents have local, "normal" and average paying jobs live here with their standard three-bed, two-bathed home. Nothing special, but hey's, it's a roof over your head at least. There is a group of local rebels that hang around Chester, but don't let that put you off; they're only around ten years old, and the biggest thing they'll nick is the dusty of a car.

No New Posts MEADOW VIEW.

Don't let the name mislead you; there's no meadows for miles around this area of LA. This is the second-to-worst place to live in LA. The homes here are usually only just over the standard or just below, and they have a highish crime rate. However, it is a roof over your head and most people would kill to have one if they didn't.

No New Posts RIVERSIDE PINES.

Usually known as simply "Riverside", this place is well known and equally well avoid by many kids of LA society. If you're living in Riverside, then you're the lowest of the low. If you're here then you basically have no money and need a roof over your head. Well then, welcome to Riverside! They take in everyone and anyone from all soceties; everyone equal in Riverside, but watch your back ...

Myspace. A product of the 21st century. Create a myspace for your character, and communicate with others using it. It's essential for every teenage adult's living. Everyone in WA has a myspace; apart from AIM and cell phones, it's the 'in thing' for communication. Many spend their IT lessons commenting each other on it, instead of doing the work teachers have set out. It's much more interesting, don'tcha think? So go and get your character a myspace now.

No New Posts CONVERSATION ON IM? WELL I'M DONE.

If you're bored, then come on AIM and there is sure to be someone waiting to talk to you; everyone in WA has AIM. Hell, everyone in the world has AIM! You won't get anywhere without it - but you have to sign up for a screenname first. Perfect for catching up on the latest gossip, sending invitations to parties or, if the mood hits you, breaking off relationships, as AIM makes it easy and (somwhat) painless.

No New Posts FLY ACROSS THE ROOM.

In every class across the world, someone gets bored, and the kids at Woodsen Academy are no different. They get bored just the same as everyone else, and there is only so much staring out the window and planning the week ahead's outfits one can take. So, what do you do after that? Send a note to your best friend asking about the week ahead's outfit, of course. When a teacher's back is turned, it's not unusual to see a whizz of paper flying past your head. Remember to duck and also remember to be sly. Be too bold, and you'll soon be reading out your note for the whole class to hear.

No New Posts I WANT YOU IN MY ZONE.

Text your friends as a way of keeping in touch! Very useful when you're in a crowded place and you need to find someone. Or, if you just fancy a chat ... or if your dumping someone. Then, it's also pretty useful. Others prefer to use AIM for that, but nevertheless, you'll be no-one and get no-where in WA without a cell phone. Whether it's a cheap Nokia or a plush sidekick, it really will be your sidekick and your aide for getting through life at WA.

No New Posts DO YOUR THING, AND SMILE FOR THE CAMERA.

Everyone knows photo comments are love, yes? Well, why not make up a photo album, jam-pack it full of pics, and get comments for them! An easy way to feel good about yourself, plus showing how much or care (or not) about other people. You never know just how much can come out of a simple photo comment ... and all it takes is five seconds and a click of your mouse.

No New Posts YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOURS ALONE.

Even a simple diary or journal has been given the 21st-century zap, and it's now called a blog. Whatever site you choose to host it on; livejournal, xanga, or blogspot, it doesn't matter. Whether it's just your mundane, average, day-to-day life you record, or everything you wish and dream, do it here. Watch out and don't leave it lying around un-password-protected, though. People would pay to read what some people are thinking.
